The Paper and Board Industry Advisory Committee (PABIAC) is the UK’s tripartite strategic health and safety delivery partnership for the UK’s Paper-based Industries, bringing together the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), employer representatives, and trade unions. Its mission is to help prevent death, injury, and ill health in the sector by driving forward key strategic objectives.
As part of PABIAC’s ongoing strategy to address psychosocial hazards in the workplace, we are pleased to welcome
The Printing Charity to the PABIAC Strategic Committee. With their extensive and well-established mental health support through their Helpline the charity’s contribution will further strengthen our collective efforts to promote mental wellbeing across the industry.
Since 1827 The Printing Charity has been dedicated to providing practical, emotional and financial support for people working, and retired from, the print, paper, packaging, publishing, and graphic technology sectors. Their confidential 24/7 Helpline provides in-the-moment emotional support from BACP-accredited counsellors, along with advice and guidance on a range of challenges, including mental health concerns, financial difficulties, legal issues, and family matters.
Across the sector, we have seen a growing number of employees affected by psychosocial challenges in both their personal and professional lives. Recognising this, PABIAC is committed to prioritising mental health initiatives that promote resilience and workplace wellbeing. The addition of The Printing Charity to the committee will enhance the industry’s ability to support businesses and their employees in this critical area.
With PABIAC continuing to shape the future of health and safety in the sector, this partnership marks an important step in ensuring the industry remains proactive in tackling mental wellbeing challenges.
